I believe this model allows for a more personalized approach to medicine, tailored to the exact needs of each individual. By not being governed by insurance companies, we can work together to find the treatment path that's best for you without any conflict of interest.

About Me

My name is Nitzana Aufiero. I have been a family nurse practitioner for 7 years, and a nurse for 15 years. I was drawn to the nursing profession after volunteering at an orphanage in Central America for several months when I was 18 years old, where I witnessed the tremendous devastation people suffer in the absence of a supportive, loving presence - a devastation that can be eased simply by offering one's attention and care.

In nursing school I got into a severe accident, rendering me unable to walk or perform basic functions. Through the help of loved ones, supportive medical staff, divine guidance, and a sheer dislike for being bedbound, I recovered fully. This arduous journey left me marveling at our innate healing powers and resilience, if we but learn to tap into them.

My career has since evolved into helping people uncover our God-given ability to heal from within, as well as our unrelenting tenacity. Whether it be through teaching, listening, collaborating, and/or planning, I will work with you in whatever capacity I am able to achieve this.

What Is Direct Primary Care?

WHAT IS IT?

A Direct Primary Care clinic, or DPC, is fast becoming a prominent primary care model across the US. It removes insurance from the picture and instead charges an affordable, flat monthly fee that covers a set of services as outlined below. Regardless of whether or not you have 1 or 20 visits in a month, the price is still the same. There will be no surprise bills! You can also set up a recurring monthly credit card charge so you don't even have to remember to pay, although this is not required.

WHAT'S THE ROLE OF INSURANCE?

Insurance does not cover your monthly fee, and most insurances do not reimburse you for this fee. Some cost-sharing insurances, however, do give you a percentage back of what you pay every month.

CAN YOU STILL USE INSURANCE FOR LABS, PRESCRIPTIONS, IMAGING, REFERRALS?

Yes! You will be covered as you normally would by insurance for orders coming from the clinic. Because insurance companies are very particular about what they dictate is and isn't covered, however, be sure to know what your coverage benefits are before going for something like diagnostic testing. But we do work hard to do what insurance companies require to get things approved, such as 'prior authorizations' or 'prior approvals'.

WILL YOU NEED ANOTHER PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER?

This clinic offers full primary care services. You will need an in-network PCP only if your insurance requires it. Make sure you're aware of what your insurance policy requires.

• Same day or next business day virtual or office appointments, excluding holidays. Appointment types include wellness exams, acute and chronic disease management, acute illness, and multiple procedures
• Home visits if you are physically unable to come to the office (extra fees may apply depending on driving distance)
• Access to comprehensive primary care medicine via phone
• Access to provider feedback via email/portal any day of the work week
• Referrals, labs and imaging orders
• Electronic prescriptions

Office care and minor procedures included, as medically indicated

• Dipstick urinalysis
• Fingerstick glucose
• Stool test for blood
• Urine pregnancy test

• Ear wax removal
• Pap smears *
• Rapid strep test
• Nebulizer treatment
• Stitches for cuts/wound care
• Skin biopsies **

EXCEPTIONS TO ABOVE:
* Patient will be responsible for the laboratory fees.
** Patient will be responsible for the pathology and laboratory fees

Excluded services

• Anything not specifically listed as a Covered Service is a non-covered service.

• Any health care services not performed on or within the premises of Newport Health & Wellness, including emergency room visits, hospital stays, specialist care, imaging and labs, etc.
• Durable medical equipment (braces, splints, etc.).
• Any care delivered by providers not affiliated with the practice
• In-office vaccines, but these can be sent to your pharmacy of choice to be administered there.
• Controlled medication prescriptions
• Medical marijuana cards - these are offered in the clinic, but are not included in the monthly fee

ADULT MEMBERSHIP

$65 PER MONTH

With a monthly fee of $65, you'll receive comprehensive, patient-centered care that includes everything from preventative measures to minor procedures. Join the plan today and experience the peace of mind that comes from knowing you're in good hands.

CHILD MEMBERSHIP

$40 PER MONTH

As a primary care provider, I know how important it is for parents to have access to quality healthcare for their children. I offer Child Memberships that provide direct primary care services for children under 18 years old. For just $40 a month, you can rest assured knowing that your child has access to personalized care when they need it.

FAMILY MEMBERSHIP

$200 PER MONTH

I strive to provide families with affordable and personalized healthcare services. My Family Membership allows families of 2 adults and up to 3 children to access direct primary care for a monthly rate of $200, with an additional cost of only $20 per month per additional child. With my comprehensive, individualized services, your family will be well cared for as both individuals and as a whole.

Holistic Treatments

At Newport Health & Wellness, I believe in treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. My focus is on holistic and natural healing, and I offer a range of treatments to help my patients achieve optimal health. From nutritional counseling to chronic disease management, I provide personalized care to each patient. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all (or even most!) given the uniqueness we each hold, physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Integrative Medicine

Integrative medicine is an approach to healthcare that offers multimodal treatments by combining conventional with complementary, holistic treatment. I use this approach to expand the selection of treatments in order to achieve optimal health and wellness. I take a personalized approach to healthcare, using advanced diagnostic testing and in-depth medical examinations to identify underlying imbalances and create a customized treatment plan.

Wellness Programs

My wellness programs are designed to help my patients achieve optimal health and wellness. I offer a range of programs to address different health concerns, including weight loss, stress management, and chronic disease management. My programs are tailored to each patient's individual needs and goals, and are designed to promote long-term health and wellness.
